Sustainability is perhaps the key feature of the life that we would be leading in the coming decade. We cannot afford to be passive users of our natural resources and contribute to the depletion of non renewable resources in a haphazard manner. What we can instead do is to make use of the free energy that is available to each and everyone of us in the environment and harness their immense potential to reduce our dependence on conventional forms of energy. All it takes is a little effort on our parts to acquaint ourselves with the options and implement a renewable energy program in our homes.

One of the biggest sources of renewable free energy is obtainable from the sun in the form of solar energy. The sun is expected to last for many centuries and is therefore one of the most dependable forms of renewable energy that is available for our use today. You could easily hook up your external lighting system and garage opener to a solar panel and take these systems off grid permanently. These are small but definite steps in decreasing your dependency on conventional energy sources.

Another major source of renewable energy is geo thermal energy or the heat energy that is obtained from the earth. This is a good source of free earth energy and you can use it to heat your home. All it needs is some regulating and safety equipment to channelize the heat in conduits in all the parts of your house and you could be in for some really good savings in your energy bills once the geo thermal energy system is up and running.

Miniaturization is one of the important scientific principles that have created many practical applications for harnessing renewable earth energy sources like solar energy for domestic use. For example, it is not anymore necessary to have large arrays of solar panels to generate electricity for running an appliance or two with solar energy. Miniaturization has meant that more charging circuits can be placed in a smaller area, thus making the solar panel a compact entity that can be easily installed on your roof.

Another benefit that free energy systems have derived from miniaturization is a reduction in the production cost. One of the major reasons for cost escalation in alternative energy mechanisms is due to the sheer number of the components that go into making a system.

You can also get substantial savings on your energy bills if you make use of the free energy that is available in abundance in the form of heat energy (from the sun), electricity (from the wind) etc. The savings that can be had from a planned use of earth energy is immense and the importance of saving whatever money we can for alternate uses has been impressed upon us by the economic situation in the past one year or so. This is perhaps the best reason why you should be trying out a program to harness these renewable energies to power the equipments in your home.

If you want build your very own solar panel with a small budget, then you are in the right place. Before to start, there are some things you should know, one of them is being open to trying new stuff and this will increase your chances of achieving your objective. The making of your own solar panel can be done with the help of your family members and friends, Solar panel construction can be a fun and satisfying project. In addition, the use of solar panels can help you save money and also protect the environment at the same time.

Lets talk about the main benefits of solar panels:

1.-Store the electricity: It is known that with batteries it is easy to do.

2.- Easy to maintain: Practically, the solar panels systems dont need any kind of maintenance.

3.- Reduce the energy cost: You only need to pay one time the installation. Later, the investment can be recovered in few months of installation. When the system is build, you can save a lot of money with the free energy coming from the photovoltaic cells.

4.- Save money: Depending on the number of solar panels, you can save all the money you pay to the electric company.

5.- Your home worth more: If some day, you want to sell your house, the price is higher because the solar system panels can provide free energy. Your potential buyers will know that.

6.- Help the environment: The use of solar panels provide clean energy. It doesnt polute the air.

7.-Sell your energy: You can sell your excess generated electricity back to the utility companies. In many states, the energy companies will give you money if you can produce more energy than you consume. This is because your solar power system can be setup to return unused electricity to the grid for use by other consumers.

8.- Self-sufficient: You can avoid the increases of energy bill. In todays volatile economy, no one can predict the change in the price of fossil fuels. But, if you own enough solar panels, you can relax. Because you never will pay for using the sun.

Basically, solar panels are dependent on sun light to work. So, the most ideal location to position your panels is on the roof of your house. Always, you have also other alternative locations such as on an empty part of garden that is close to the main area. It is very important that the solar panels stay accurately angled to face the sun\’s direction. Then, the solar panels will receive maximum exposure to direct sun rays.

These are just some of the benefits of solar panels. Many people are already realizing these benefits and saving hundreds from their energy bills. If you\’re looking to cut money from your monthly spend and contribute to protecting the environment then getting into solar power is definitely the way to go.

You can use a do it youself guide to build your solar panels. There are companies that sell these new guides a very affordable prices, around $50. You may think that the materials will be much more expensive. But they claim that cost of material for the solar panel dont exceed $200. This is five times less than a solar panel can cost. It is a good opportunity to save money and the environment.
