<p>Losing weight after pregnancy is challenging for many new mothers who want to get back to how they used to look.</p>
<p>Your body tends to retain extra weight after you give birth as a reaction to what it has been through over the nine months. The body has lots to contend with during pregnancy, and it will take several weeks before everything is back to normal. Be patient and realistic, but take some action to getting back your pre-pregnancy body.</p>
<p>Getting back some muscle tone in your abdominals is a great first step; they have been stretched beyond recognition and need some help. Start with those pelvic floor exercises you&#8217;ve been shown. These muscles can be contracted at any time when you are sitting, standing or lying. Try to think about doing five slow contractions several times through your day. Gently work your abdominals: sit in a chair and slowly straighten your knees and raise your feet off the floor and hold for three. Repeat.</p>
<p>You are tired, exhausted and sleep-deprived, but some gentle exercise is going to help you feel better and will increase your energy levels. If you have an exercise machine at home, aim to do just five minutes, twice a day, while baby is sleeping or having a kick on the floor. Start out carefully and gently; you can increase the time and intensity as you gain strength.</p>
<p>If you don&#8217;t have a machine at home, there are other exercise sessions you can do. Put baby in the carriage and go for a walk around the block for 15 minutes or so. Pick a nice day and both of you will enjoy the fresh air. Do a short session of step-ups, squats, jump rope, dancing to your favorite music or jogging on the spot &#8211; anything that gets your heart rate and breathing up.</p>

<p>We study nutrient labels for many reasons. But, whatever our choices, we all needs to understand how to use this information smarter. When it comes to a sodas label, we&#8217;re consuming more calories than ever, so it is even more critical to know not only the familiar components- calories, carbs and fats, but also understanding the flavor descriptions for the beverage of choice.</p>
<p>A drinks flavor description is a sign to what is in the beverage. Not all descriptors are OK by the FDA, so now you have to live with fantasy descriptions such as pure flavoring and all natural flavors along with descriptions that are more accurate but still just as hard to understand- natural, artificial, natural and artificial. More about flavoring descriptions later in the story.</p>
<p>We look at nutrient statements for lots of different reasons. Whatever your reason, you need to know how to use this information more effectively and wisely. When it comes to beverage labels, we are all drinking more calories than ever, so it is even wiser for us to understand not only the familiar elements: calories, carbs and fats, but also deciphering the flavor descriptors for the beverage you choose.</p>
<p>Understanding the nutritional facts panel now. Here are the nutrients you want to drink or eat less of (saturated fat, cholesterol, sodium and sugar) as well as those you want to get enough of (vitamins, minerals and fiber). A beverage or food that provides 5 percent or less of daily value is considered to be low in that nutrient, while a food is considered a good source of a nutrient if one serving provides 20 percent DV.</p>
<p>Looking at the serving size next. This is the first nutrient line on the label and the basis for all the numbers and percentages that follow. If you don&#8217;t check serving size, you could be drinking more calories than you realize. For example, a single serving of your favorite fruit juice is typically one cup, not two, so you&#8217;re normal drinking glass could be doubling your actual calorie intake, doubling the calories, fat, carbohydrates, etc. without you even realizing it.</p>
<p>Caloric Information is next in line. This tells us the number of calories in a typical serving size. Also included are the calories from carbs and fats. For instance, a 1-cup serving of your favorite beverage has 120 calories per cup and there are two servings per bottle, of which sixty about 50 % are from carbs. If you want to minimize carbs, you might select products with thirty% or less carbs.</p>
<p>Learning about nutrients is next. This area contains what&#8217;s in the drink, plus any added nutrients, fats or sugars. Ingredients are in order by weight, from the highest to lowest numbers. So if you want to cut back on sodium or sugar, don&#8217;t choose a beverage or food product with sugar as the 1st ingredient. And don&#8217;t be fooled by different forms of fat and sugar listed with names you dont understand. If you want to learn how much sugar is really in a beverage, look for what we call the osis words that end in &#8220;ose&#8221; -sucrose, dextrose, fructose &#8211; as well as more common descriptions: corn syrup, molasses and honey.</p>
<p>Learning what descriptors mean now: What does pure flavoring or all natural mean? What does &#8220;light&#8221;, &#8220;fat-free&#8221; and &#8220;low-sodium&#8221; really say? Here&#8217;s how the FDA defines these descriptions: low-saturated fat (1 gram or less per serving); low-sodium (140 milligrams or less); low-cholesterol (20 milligrams or less and 2 grams or less of saturated fat); low-calorie (40 calories or less). Light beverages and foods have 2/3 the calories of the regular product. Note: It is important to know that just because a beverage is low-fat or low-sugar that doesnt mean low calories.</p>
<p>As far as the FDA claims, there are really only three approved flavoring descriptors, 4 if you include spices. Here&#8217;s a little review and some of the more common language out there: 1. Natural: essential oil, essence or extractive, distillate, or any product which contains the flavoring constituents derived from a spice, fruit, or fruit juice whose significant function is flavoring rather than nutritional. 2. Artificial: any substance used to impart flavor not derived from a spice, fruit or fruit juice. 3. Natural &amp; Artificial: A blend of natural and artificial flavors.</p>
<p>As far as flavor descriptions for the drinks you consume, you need to see past things when a beverages label says pure flavoring. Look further at sodas. They taste great but are loaded with high fructose corn syrups, even though they are natural products. Review alternative beverages that lets us to get all the taste and flavoring with 0 calories, carbs and fats.</p>
<p>One solution is to find bottled flavored water. There is a wide selection of products to choose from. Watch and choose flavored waters with zero calories. You can also make your own flavored water by cutting up fruit. Look for natural flavoring additives and concentrates with 0 calories, 0 carbs, 0 fats is another inexpensive choice beverages high in calories. These new flavoring drops are quite different and new to the market and let you add flavoring to h20, teas, brews, even vodkas with zero extra calories.</p>

<p>Quick weight loss diets have always been around. They can be hard on your body, causing a drastic change in your diet and nourishment. It is not a safe idea to do a quick weight loss diet for anymore than seven days. No quick weight loss diet is made to be used for an extended amount of time.</p>
<p>Although you may think your body feels better any time after the seven day period and it will stop responding to the weight loss diet. Initially there will be results that you like, but over time if carried on with can cause damage to your health.</p>

<p>Use this manageable and super healthy diet plan to lose the first 10, the last 10, or any amount of pounds in between! Because this is a balanced and flexible program, you can stay on this diet as long as it takes.</p>
<p>You need to lose weight by keeping track of what you eat. Cut out fats by eliminating butter, margarine, mayonnaise, oil from your sandwiches and food preparations. You don&#8217;t have to write down the calorie count, but write down what you eat.</p>
<p>Use skim milk and make a habit to drink tea. If you insist on using whole milk at least use two percent milk in your diet. This helps cutting down on your fat intake.</p>
<p>Be certain to include legumes, peanut, cottage cheese, chicken, fish, eggs or yogurt. Try to  limit your sugar treats to a few times a week max. Eat one or more meatless lunches and dinners each week.</p>

<p>Most easy-to-use weight loss programs use a balanced and flexible diet. Make provision to, however, first by focusing on losing the first 10 pounds and then shoot for the next 10 pounds.</p>
<p>Top secrets to lose weight suggest you keep track of everything you eat and drink. No need to estimate calories just write down the type of food or beverage and the amount. Cut your fat intake in half, that means half as much margarine or butter on toast, vegetables and your muffin, half the mayonnaise on your sandwich, and half the oil in the pan when you saute foods. You get the idea!</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re not currently using skim milk, reduce the level of fat content in the milk you use. For example, if you currently use two percent, use only one percent. If you insist on whole milk, try two percent. And drink tea.</p>

<p>Eat fresh in season fruit twice a day. Stay away and curb sugary fruit juices and have water or drink tea instead. Add a slice of lemon for some zest if you like. Eat more vegetables with lunches and dinner so you have at least 4 servings a day.</p>
<p>Eat a few servings of food using whole grains at each meal. Don&#8217;t eat in front of the TV. Studies show that you eat larger portions of foods and snacks watching TV.</p>
<p>Chew your calories. Don&#8217;t consume liquids swarming with calories by drinking them. That means cutting out soda and high-calorie fruit juices and drinking tea or water instead. Plan ahead what you are going to eat. Last-minute planning tends to veer you off your diet.</p>
