\”A Cinderella story\” was written by Leigh Dunlap and directed by Mark Rosman. This movie was released in the year 2004 and is a teenage romantic comedy track starring the famous Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray in lead roles. As we all know that the traditional Cinderella story involves a lost slipper whereas in this movie it involves a lost cell phone. The movie also features some popular sound tracks including \”Now you know\” and \”Our lips are sealed\”.
Hilary Duff is the daughter of a widowed father which is enacted by Whip Hubley. The plot actually starts when Hubley falls in love with Jennifer Coolidge and marries her. To the ill-fate of Hilary Duff (Cinderella), her father dies leaving her with Jennifer Coolidge and two daughters (Jennifer Coolidge\’s daughters). In the next scene of the movie Hilary Duff is shown as a high school student who is forced to work as a diner by her step mother. Julie Gonzalo, a cheerleader in the school also adds to the misery of Hilary Duff by pestering her always.
In the course of the movie Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray start to text each other frequently without knowing each other. One day Chad invites Hilary to the Halloween dance in order to meet her for the first time. Chad dumps Gonzalo and gets ready to meet Hilary on the Halloween night. But at the same time Hilary is forced to work by her step mother. Then Hilary\’s friend Regina King helps her get to the dance.
Hilary and Chad become dance partners in the Halloween party and their dance moves were graced to perfection. Chad was just about to uncover the mask on the face of Hilary as suddenly the phone alarm of Hilary rings out loud and reminding her of the cleaning job to be finished by midnight. Hilary gets terrified and runs to her home. In her haste, she drops her cell phone which is picked up Chad. Impressed with the dance, Chad is now determined to reveal the true identity of his mystery girl.
Chad does a school wide search for Hilary but in vain as Hilary was not bold enough to reveal herself. This truth is however uncovered by her two step-sisters from her emails and along with Gonzalo they plan to humiliate Hilary. They succeed in doing so, leaving Hilary in tears. Adding to the misery of Hilary was the rejection letter from the Princeton University regarding her higher studies. What will be the fate of Hilary? Is she going to be a diner for her entire lifetime? Is it the end of the relation between Hilary and Chad? Well, find it out yourself.
